weskus suksew

I am off to the west coast as of next week where I will be residing with a few friends for the holiday. Amped to say the least but cannot help the thoughts in my mind asking where the waves are going to be. We will be camping a bit aswell as some luxury 3 star accomodation compliments of Eureka.

The comp promises to be a good one and I will be working there to pay my living costs. I am frothing yes.

Here are some photos recently taken. I hope you find them attractive.

Godzilla

Every one has heard about the intense situation in Japan. Critical stuff guys.. Keep them in your thoughts.

On the brighter side we surfed our first boland trial this weekend. Went quite nicely. Was surfing well up until the final and ended off 3rd behind W.l and taking it as usual Mafoos.

Surfed some waves today with the Godzilla swell. Wasnt the greatest but definately some fun.

liquid deep

So the west cosat is 1 up on me. For sure. Went up te coast yesterday in hope of some fun waves and hopefully some shots. We got the shots but the waves were far from just fun. Something next level. Quite scary sitting out there watching 5 foot sets unravelling onto a rock about the size of an average car and doing things you could never imagine. I did however manage to pull off 2 flips, one of which was out of a barrel, but I must admit, i'm not near skilled enough to surf that wave.

I also managed to loose my board. Yes my new one. Yes im sad. But it happened. And being sad about it would be pointless.

Here are some photos of the trip. A very memorable one.

Onrus classic 2010

Spent the last week of my life in Onrus. Was great fun, scored some sick waves and had good times.

I didn't enter the comp because for me it is not worht the R100 to enter but I did enjoy the vibe on the beach and got some photos.

Some bad news is that Malcolm has turned his back on me punching me several times in the upper torso after being locked in a bathroom. He came out with the look of a criminal in his eyes and struck me in the rib. The rookie will learn.

Anyway we also managed to score some cooking farside and here are thee photos for you:

heavy days

Scored some rather big and heavy waves today around the coast. After a few minor problems we left for the spot at about 10:30. We got there as it was cooking but after about 30 min the onsshore picked up and the tide got too high. We waited it out and ended up scoring.

Got a couple of beatings today, my board took one for the team but other than that I had a good surf.

Some photos. Action shots by Mafoos and W.l and empty wave photos by me.

gale force glassy barrels

Today was rather strange to tell the truth. Woke up and the sun was halfway through the sky?

Anyway headed to the beach. Ramped a few sand dunes. Got a couple of epic photos and scored sick waves.

First stop was at a undisclose beach break where all we did was ramp the sand dunes and explore a bit. Then we stopped at the reef in pringles where we paddled in only to realise that it was too small to break. After a solid hour I only caught 4 waves so we headed to the next stop which happened to be kogel-baai. Glassy pits. null-crowd. Took a few photos then paddled in and got so biscuit.

Empty wave photos by me and surf photos by Julian Parsons.

Its not my dog

Fatal brawls going down, 25ft swells pushing through yet no waves? This makes no sense at all.

I must admit I only surfed twice this week. Felt slightly kook when paddling in at pipe yesterday but waves were good. Exams start in a weeks time. Should probalby start studying. Hoping to score waves during the exams while most other kids are chilling hard infront of the books

I couldn't care less

Today was the day of boland trial number 3. Waves were fun but not contestable. I came 3rd in my heat not making it through but I couldn't care less. Must be the craziest day of surf missioning I have ever had. My travel partner was Melt hahah. Everything fell together as if planned and over all had a epic day.

Didn't take many photos because I was too busy having fun to take photos but here are some anyway:

whahahaaaaahaaa

This weekend gave us all something to froth on. Good caves for the weekend and good times on the beach. Waves were a bit small Saturday and today was a bit inconsistent but more size. Time for the week to bigin and get these tests over with.

Some photos for your enjoyment
