rolling like blaartjies

Spent the day at koeel bay today, some sick waves, good times and plenty sunshine!

My sister and her friend took photos from the land for most of the surf, and I took a couple playing with the 50mm

new lens

Got a old Nikon film camera from my Uncle today, looks like such a sick camera but the real treasure is the lens that came with it. It's a Nikkor 50mm 1.4 aperture lens. It works on my D60 also.

I took a few photos earlier around the house and i'm super impressed.

wanderlust.

A very strong or irresistible impulse to travel.

Yeah that's it. That's definitely me.

Here are some archived photos from the west coast from earlier this month.

this. is. home

This blog post will go a bit different to most of my blogposts, it isn't orientated about waves, travel or photography but rather about modern society.

Yesterday while waiting for Jandre to pick me up on the side of the Koeel bay mountain pass, I watched cars pass, heard the birds singing and overheard an old man sitting in his old Mazda bakkie speaking to someone over the phone. It made me think about all of the people out there stuck in the corporate world, living the same routine day in and day out wishing 5 days out of the 7 day week away for the 2 day weekends. I for one do not want to ever be caught up in this corporate world but it seems there are few ways out. I don't want to work. I want to travel, explore, and learn about different cultures. Not work for 90% of the year for 3 weeks leave. That's not how I want to spend my life.

Here is a photo I took while up the west coast earlier this holiday, the tent we lived in for a week. Not luxury, not the most comfortable either, but definately better than a 9-5 office job.

jeffrey

So after the week spent up the west coast, I headed up the east coast. More of a party mission really but good fun still. We surfed the infamous Lookout in Plettenberg Bay on our way up and got some sick ones. We got some waves in Jeffreys Bay aswell but the surfers were being the dicks they are so didn't get much.

On another note, we scored sick waves at koeel bay yesterday and today aswell. HAPPY DAYS.

todays waves

Due to my serious case of tennis elbow I have been left unable to surf for the time being and took my camera to the sea today. Got some nice photos, lots of which I will be archiving for later use. Too many photos not enough time.

west coast soldier

This past week was an epic one. Headed up the west coast with William Ferreira and Doug Stanley Prain. Scored some sick waves, had some epic times and got some epic photos.

If I could upload all my photos I would because there are so many sick ones however time does not allow me to so here are the first of the surfing pics.
