Not really. Might just print a few for myself. Not sure whether this will be the final design or not.

weskus calls

After 2 weeks of holiday and still no missions, a mission is coming together. I am amped to say the least. Joining on the trip will be Doug Prain as well as William Ferreira.

Here are a few photos from the archives:

Today was a day of boredem, indeed. I made a stop motion video, I edited photos, I created a new blog header. Hell I even considered playing sims.

Days like these are not my friends, I do not at all like this unconstructiveness. That's not even a word.

I would like to go away.

Here are some photos from a mission yesterday:

vvaves vvere ridden

Scored some lovely bowls today. Despite the fact that it looked about 1ft when we arrived, we paddled in and the waves picked up nicely so we ended up getting sicks ones.

After the surf I took some photos with my sisters camera.

Here they are:

Went photographing with Jandre this fair evening. The weather actually looked as if it might be clearing out a bit only later to find out that we had in fact be 'bamboozled'. The rain arrived and with it we left.

Today after being greeted by oversized messy koeel bay Jandre and myself decided to hike one of the nearby mountains. At first it seemed like we would reach the summit in no time but the distance stretched and 2 hours later we arrived at the top.

The view is insane from up there and i'm stoked we did it.

Went on a hike today, but instead of going up we went down. To the waters edge to get a closer looks at some of our beautiful coastline. Without a doubt some of the most interesting terrain I have ever seen, steep rock faces and pretty rough waters.

I took a few film photos which surely will pop up sooner or later but for now here are a few GoPro photos.

skate zones aweh

Been skating the strand skatepark a fair amount lately. It closer by than most surf spots and petrol is a big problem.

Skating is a pretty fun alternative but definitely not the real deal! Keen to get on some proper waves again.

Here are a few photos from a skate today

So whilst waiting for the tide to drop, Mathew and I went to the skatepark in strand with our small skateboard.

Was actually epic fun! Then afterwards we we went to koeel bay and got some.

Here are a few GoPro pictures.

Kokkarot invitational 2012

Today the first Kokkarot invitational went down in nothing less than perfect conditions. Perfect 2-3ft bowly waves, wrapping around the reef like I have never seen it wrap before.

The morning started early, we arrived in the dark and could already feel the perfect offshore mountain winds. It was icy cold but after the 2nd trip to the car to carry stuff it was all good. The first heat that went in started at 9. After the first round we surfed 2 repo rounds for the riders who did not make their first heats. After the repo rounds we took a 45 minute break to wait for the tide to drop off more. Heats then progressed into 3 man heats and from there into man on man quarter final heats.

Standouts in the competition include Mafoos Lombaard with some big flips, Tristan Roberts with the most flips I have seen done in one day, Vlooi Botha with a good combination of big rolls and flips, Morne Laubsher showing his epxerience . Marc Webster was on fire from the start and deservedly took 1st place closely followed by Tristan Roberts in 2nd.

I would just like to once again thank our sponsors for the event, Reef wetsuits South Africa, Boost Surf shop stellenbosch, Wolfalley and RedBull. Without you guys the event would not have been such a success!

There was a lot of photographers and videographer present and Photos and Edits will be surfacing soon. I have a fair amount of footage myself and will make an edit later next week.

Here are my photos from the day:
