one photo

There is only one photo in this blogpost. The photo was taken while running down the mountain side with my right hand while my left hand was used to guide me. Was just too keen to stop and take photos.

Anyway the photos didn't stay all that fruitful for too long but while it lasted it was a joyous occasion!

Here it is.

Willister

Willis here is one of my friends. He likes long walks on the beach, meeting new people and casually growing his moustache while keeping up with the boogie. He also likes the west coast.

boogie froth

Inbetween all of the photo taking, exam writing and developing of film I have been on the boogie. These photos have been around and seen by most already but for those who havent seen them, here are two of them. Taken by Morne Laubscher who is an absolute guru on the lens and a legend of a guy! Too stoked with the photos, its been a while.

hot like fire

Just got my first film converted to digital and the outcomes are joyous indeed. This film is particularly special. The film itself expired 9 years ago but the photos taken on it are of the best memories. Things to keep.

Seamen

Today 5 men went to sea.

I kind of see it as an LSD meeting. It was rad. A few of us also went and dived this morning for some crusty crustaceans. Was such a pleasure to be in the sea and sun all day and see some more of natures finest.

We took many photos while at the sea, some truely epic memories and such good times.

On monday I will be writing my last exam, quite a bit moment in my life but quite keen to move on to the next phase. This holiday is going to be one to remember.

3m 13sec brisk offshore

Lets clear shit first. Caves today must be the worst I have surfed it this year. Banks are nowhere to be seen. Quite sad actually was expecting some rampers. Got one or two sick ones in the morning and then the offshore wind picked up and waves vanished. Anyway I continued surfing all alone in the hope that it would clean up. It didnt.

Carel took a few photos during the last 30 minutes.

Don't let its appearance fool you, this was about the best wave of the session.

11 / 11 / 11

Today was a good day. I wasnt expecting an easy science paper but recieved an easy science paper. Was not expecting an early lift home but recieved an early lift home. Was not expecting to go to the mountains but ended up there but most importantly I was expecting onshore waves. But instead some heaving passion pits. STOKED

Exams are coming to and end. 5 of those bastards left!

Here are some photos from us horsing around in the mountains today:

halfway

Firstly, sorry to all for not blogging much lately. The truth is we havent really been scoring the sickest waves but have probably surfed more the past week than ever this year. Which is a good thing. Have been scoring good fun waves with 3 days out of the 8 very good waves. Some photos were taken and one surf was filmed.

On sunday while looking at all the kids having a bash at silkies and just after surfing pipe myself I realised, that silkies was the place all the local guys started. And my group of bodyboarders, our generation is almost splitting up next year with everyone going there seperate waves. Ofcourse we will still see each other. Just not as often. So what im trying to say is enjoy all the time while you have it.
