the art of flying with the LSD

Probably the thing about home I miss most. Jumping from the Gordons bay Cliffs. The cliffs are close enough to home to be able to drive through after school and we use it often in summer. Snorkeling there is pretty epic aswell. My comrades that were always the most keen for cliffs begin Chandre and Tiaan no longer live in Strand and I spend most of my life in Stellenbosch. However during the December holidays we re-unite and this routine should be back in full swing.

I apologise for the belated blog post. Test week is upon me and it could not have come at a worse time. Due to test week preperations I was unable to partake in the Southern Cape classic, I will also not be able to surf Boland champs this weekend because of the possibility of it running over 2 days. Negative is an understatement!

On a brighter note, a 10 day break is around the corner which is short, but still lovely will be surfing plenty.

Last week when I went to pick up my NSC from my old school, I was asked by the secretary what I was doing this year and what I planned on doing after my studies, I told her I planned on not working. She told me that my view on life was wrong and that I should change it.

I don't agree with her. Not one bit.

So today after a lot of shit waves we got waves! Not all time but barrels non-the-less. 

I have decided I want to make a little podcast, so got my sister to come film today and got some surprisingly sick footage, now all I want is one good day of wedges at koeel bay then I will get editing!

anniversary

Tomorrow is my 19th year anniversary with the Earth. Nothing to special it though. I will not be allowed to indulge in the goodness of the ocean as I have done the year before and the year before that. Instead I will be doing mathematical sums, some mindfuck here and there and a few beers later. I'd preffer to be at the sea!

In the first week of the semester I played around on a friends slackline quite a bit, but the weather has been so shit lately that today was the first time since then. It is a super fun thing to do and pretty good core excercise.

Had a fairly average weekend. Definitely not one for the books. I was only able to surf once this weekend being today and spent the rest of my weekend doing pretty much fuckall.

So this weekend was one for the books, pumping waves both Saterday and even better on Sunday, very good GoPro footage and even a casual stomp. 

I'm back in Stellenbosch now and will be slaving the rest of the week away.

Due to the minor sickness that has overcome me, I am left unable to skate and be active and so yesterday at about 5 headed to the sickest zone in the forest with some Henrique and a lots of his friends.

I played around with Henrique's camera and actually got some nice photos. Very soft lighting.

Today marks the start of the 8th month of the year 2012. If the Mayans have predicted correctly that leaves us with just under 5 months to live.
