Today we ran the first of a more bodyboardiong contests taht don't yet have a name. We were lucky to score good caves for the contest seeing how bad it has been lately.
The tide didn't bugger us around a bit and the few that judged plus me were later stuck on an island that we judged from because the water came so high. We managed to get to the mountain and had to use the skills we learn't from years of watching ninja warrior to get us up steep mountain faces
All-in-all a good day. Everyone had fun and was a good experience.
The results were as follows:
Mens open:
First place: Marc Webster
Second place: Stefan Roos
Third Place: Mafoos
Fourth place: Bernard Hoogendijk
Boys under 16:
First place: Tristan Roberts
Second place: W.L Pretorius
Expression session:
Kyle Cabano

eugene terror
Today was the true meaning of epic fail. Woke up early to go to the beach expecting some big, cooking wedges only to arrive and find big heavy closeouts.
Sat out to take photos while the braver paddled in. I got some nuce photos but nothing amazing. Enjoy it.
Heavy it was
This one blew real hard
Some artiness went down while there were no waves

mongrel
Have had a good week of waves so far. Have not surfed the greatest waves but scored cooking caves twice and average caves once.
Have not been taking many photos lately because seeing as the sunsets at 6:15 everyday I only have 3 hours between the time that I get home and sunset to surf so when I get home I surf till I can.
Have my contest this coming weekend so get down to the beach people and come surf for some money with us. Contest will start at about 8:30 so please try be there by 8:00 so we can do entries. We will meet at the koeel bay parking lot and surf beaches if caves is to big.

heavy days
Scored some rather big and heavy waves today around the coast. After a few minor problems we left for the spot at about 10:30. We got there as it was cooking but after about 30 min the onsshore picked up and the tide got too high. We waited it out and ended up scoring.
Got a couple of beatings today, my board took one for the team but other than that I had a good surf.
Some photos. Action shots by Mafoos and W.l and empty wave photos by me.

gale force glassy barrels
Today was rather strange to tell the truth. Woke up and the sun was halfway through the sky?
Anyway headed to the beach. Ramped a few sand dunes. Got a couple of epic photos and scored sick waves.
First stop was at a undisclose beach break where all we did was ramp the sand dunes and explore a bit. Then we stopped at the reef in pringles where we paddled in only to realise that it was too small to break. After a solid hour I only caught 4 waves so we headed to the next stop which happened to be kogel-baai. Glassy pits. null-crowd. Took a few photos then paddled in and got so biscuit.
Empty wave photos by me and surf photos by Julian Parsons.
Me- dandy bottomturn
Mafoos sick invert
The ocassional empty like this rolled through
The reef. once every 20min
Sick beachie
Mafoos fat ARS

parsley
Just got back from an epic west coast mission. Did not score like we would have liked to but we tested our limits at some heavy reef and also a dash of slab. Camping was good with some insane inside jokes to be remembered.
1st day: pack car and leave for Lamberts bay. swell is hoeplessly too big so we set camp
2nd day: look for waves but settle for yo-yo's, swells to big
3rd day: score sick beachie followed by a fun reef session and big beachie
4th day: after alot of brain storming we decide to head down the coast because up cost would not be working. Head down to a heavy reef that was supposed to be pumping but arrive at crosshore heavy reef, paddle in and get a beating. It was decide too cut the trip short because condions were only getting worse.
Some photos. ahoooi
Mafoos big ARS
Parsley having a steep drop
Not even sure if this has been surfed
Bigger than it seems
Massive slabby right in the middle of the ocean. this wave is about 6-8ft
